Paw Paw Fruit

The Pawpaw Fruit is delicious and nutritious and looks like fat, short bananas. Their tropical taste blends perfectly with their custardy texture and fragrant aroma. Pawpaw is very high in vitamin C, antioxidants, food energy and is much higher in minerals compared to peaches, grapes and apples. A good source of linoleic and linolenic acids and mainly has unsaturated fatty acids. It has a much higher content of amino acids in a good balance and also higher in carbohydrate, protein and fiber.

Paw paw trees are small, tropical~looking and is capable of rapid growth, under ideal conditions.  The paw paw tree is also rich in acetogenins which are found throughout the tree. The twigs contain the most concentrated amount of acetogenins, especially when they are harvested during the time when they are most biologically active. Acetogenins are active compounds that affect the production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) in the mitochondria (the powerhouse) of the cell. ATP is our cells’, and hence our body’s, major source of energy. Acetogenins modulate the production of ATP.

Fruit bearing tree

I’m thinking of adding a fruit trees in my garden.  I want trees that produces fragrant  flowers and bears edible fruit.  I’m trying to decide between the apple and loquat trees.  What I love about apples are their soft but crisp but its flower does not seem to have a strong scent.  On the other hand the flowers of loquat trees have a sweet, heady aroma that can be smelled from a distance. I love its exotic taste and its sweetness is a perfect substitute for calorie-rich desserts. The fruits are small yellow-orange and have a pleasant, mildly acid taste.  They are eaten fresh, stewed, or as jelly, pie, jam, sauces or liqueur. Since I love them both I guess it is much better if I have both of them in my garden. What could be more delightful than to be able to pluck and eat fruit from a beautiful tree you have personally grown?

Garden Fence

I’m thinking to have a fence put up around my backyard garden because I saw the newly installed garden bamboo fence of my neighbor.  It really made their garden more beautiful.  They referred me to a website in case I want a quote on fence installation or the best deal on fence installation.  I want a wooden fence because I think that it will give a humble picture to my garden.  I like a country look fence, so maybe I will have a split rail fence around my garden.  And a better way to complement a wooden garden fence is to add a wooden garden bench.  Now, where do I find a beautifully-crafted wood garden bench?
